Internet Relay Chat

Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet chat or synchronous conferencing. It is mainly designed for group (many-to-many) communication in discussion forums called channels, but also allows one-to-one communication via private message and data transfers via Direct Client-to-Client.

To connect, begin by downloading and installing an IRC client or an IM client (such as GAIM, Pidgin, Kopete) that can handle IRC (Internet Relay Chat).
If you cannot connect by simply clicking the link above, you can manually enter the server and channel into your client's connection dialog:
- Server: chat.freenode.net
- Channel: #stnylug
